This Event Raises Funds for the
STEVE BELSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND.
Last year, we awarded TEN $1000 College Incentives!

- 10 am The Steve Belson Memorial Half Mile Swim
(Beach and 92nd Street)
Then enjoy a day at the beach!
- 6pm Music with SQUID & MOON MULLEN
- 7:30pm Scholarship awards
- 8:30 pm – 1 am BILL KIRCHEN and TOO MUCH FUN with special guests John Tichy, Phil Marsh, Mark Gamsjagger, Thirsty Dave and more

Steve Belson Memorial Scholarship Fund
These events are fund raising activities to support the Steve Belson Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Tuition assistance will be awarded to deserving Lifeguards who are attending college.
This is a recognized charitable foundation. Bring your checkbook or a pocket full of coin. With your help we give kids the educational opportunity they deserve while honoring one of the bravest, fun-loving men on the planet.
Steve Belson had salt water in his veins. He patrolled the Rockaway Shore as a Lifeguard in his late teens and early twenties. Next in the natural progression was the Fire Department of New York. He will always by Mister Ladder Two-Four!
September 11th, 2001 changed much. We honor those who sacrificed all on September 11th. We recognize the budding professionalism of today’s Lifeguards.
On this day we celebrate a true son of the beach, Steve Belson.

Steve Belson Memorial Scholarship Fund College Incentive Award Program
Steve Belson was a Rockaway Lifeguard for 10 years. He went on to become a New York City Firefighter. Steve made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11th, 2001. “Bells will always be remembered as one of Rockaway’s bravest Lifeguards.” This college assistance fund was established to provide aid to lifeguards who work anywhere on the Rockaway Peninsula and are currently attending college. The fund will grant ten $1000 college incentives awards this year.
